NomadImprov is looking for experienced improv instructors who want to use their skills for something bigger than comedy classes. If you’ve spent years learning how to hold a room, read energy, and make people feel safe enough to play, you already have the hardest part. We have the system, the clients, and the mission.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Most improv instructors teach improv to people who want to learn improv. That’s a small market.
The bigger opportunity is this: millions of people in teams, communities, and organizations need what improv builds, they just don’t know improv is the mechanism. They’re not searching for improv classes. They’re searching for better team communication, stronger community, more authentic networking, retreat programming that actually connects people.
NomadImprov bridges that gap. We bring applied improv to corporate teams, coworking and coliving spaces, conferences, associations, and wellness retreats. The exercises are familiar. The context is different. And the demand is enormous.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience matters, but not the way you might think. We’re not looking for the funniest improviser in the room. We’re looking for the safest one.
People who hold rooms, not command them. The facilitator’s job is to create the conditions for connection, not to be the center of attention. If your instinct when the energy dips is to do a bit, this isn’t the right fit. If your instinct is to adjust the exercise, read the room, and give the group what it needs, we want to talk.
People who understand that improv is a wellness practice, not just an art form. We position improv alongside meditation and breathwork, not alongside stand-up and sketch. If that framing resonates with how you already think about the work, you’ll feel at home here.
People who can work with non-performers. Our participants are HR leaders, software engineers, coliving residents, and association members. They have never done improv. Many of them are terrified. The ability to make a room of skeptical beginners feel safe in five minutes is the core skill.
People who want to teach teachers. The NomadImprov model is designed to propagate. We don’t just run sessions. We develop facilitators.
